Do you remember GTA? Vice City, Nico Bellic, Why Eat Cabbage...? Well, the mother of all those games, Take-Two Interactive, recently acquired Zynga for $12.7 billion. 

Mobile game publisher Zynga made its name on casual smashes like FarmVille and Words With Friends, but the company has recently pivoted towards a future in blockchain-driven NFT games.

The deal is due to close by 30 June: as soon as all regulators and shareholders come to a common denominator. 

So what?

A restoration effort using Cardano (ADA) reached its first goal of planting over 1 million trees, the Cardano Foundation, a non-profit that oversees developments on the Cardano network, said over the weekend.

“The Cardano Forest is 100% funded, we’ve reached the 1 million trees milestone. All trees planted will be recorded on the Cardano blockchain for enhanced transparency and serve as public proof of land restoration activities,” CEO of Cardano Foundation Frederik Gregaard said in a tweet thread.

The police in Kosovo have ramped up their efforts to crack down on crypto miners in the country, confiscating more than 300 mining machines on Jan. 8 alone.

An announcement issued by the Kosovo police on Jan. 8 revealed that it had seized 272 “Antminer” Bitcoin mining machines in the municipality of Leposavic, and another 39 mining machines near Prishtina.

In December, Kosovo declared a state of emergency for 60 days amid an energy crisis and electricity shortages. Since then, the Minister of Economy introduced a blanket ban on crypto mining on Jan. 5. Kosovo currently imports over 40% of its energy.
